Start a webcam chat in four steps

When to skip and when to stay

If your camera will not connect

Nine times out of ten it is browser permissions. Check the camera icon in the address bar, set both camera and microphone to Allow, then reload the page. If another app is already using the camera — a video-meeting app is the usual culprit — close it first.

On phones, low-power mode and a very old browser version can block video too, so plug in, update, and try again. If none of that helps, switching to a different browser takes about thirty seconds and usually settles it.
